Hi, to clean the fleece you can use dishwashing detergent such as Dawn, hot water (as hot as you can get), a lingerie bag, and a top loading washing machine. Put your fleece in the bag and set aside. Fill your machine with hot water, add the soap (at least a cup), mix without making bubbles and lower your fleece in. Let it soak for 20-30 minutes. Spin to get water out. Agitation is what felts the fleece, but the spin is not enough to do this. Repeat until water is clear. Once this is done set it out to dry. I used my hammock to get lots of aeration. Then you can use simple handcarders....or a dog brush to clean the fleece. It's good to open up the fibers anyhow. Brush through and flick if you one have one brush to remove the wool from the carder. I don't know if this will work if you do not remove the grease first. Hope this helps.
