I would strongly suggest that your first course of action would be to phone the Police and explain there is an intruder on your property and listen to any advice you may be given by the call handler as well as ensuring your doors and windows are secured.
Original Answer:
You can BUT MAKE sure the suspected intruder is not there to take readings from the electric, gas,or water meters....however Using a paint ball gun (set on high) would be much more effective than using an airsoft gun..also putting up a locking gate would help as well....
It may not be legal in your state to shoot an intruder with a paint ball gun or airsoft gun however it is not likely that the intruder would go to the police and say that they got shot with a paint ball gun for tresspassing on someones property for criminal purposes...

As already said- not a very good idea. It may be considered assault- and if you have placed a person in fear of their lives, they may be justified in striking back. Defending yourself from fear of serious harm, and popping a trespasser are 2 different matters. A lock on the gate is a good security measure- as is a motion detector floodlight. Mine is wired to a light and a radio.
Most, if not all airsoft guns have accessible and changeable batteries. On most occasions you will have to take out the battery to charge it.
well im 13 and i can only get in to a couple airsoft fields with out my parents but it really depends on the field you go to. but mot of them if you are 8-15 years old you need to have a parent/gardian on the field at all times but ussaully if you are below 8 you can not play airsoft (on a field) but if you wanna play backyard airsoft that's fine but check your towns laws first.
It largely depends on the laws and regulations in your specific location. In general, using an airsoft gun for security work may not be recommended due to potential misunderstandings or risks. It's best to consult with local authorities or legal professionals for guidance on appropriate tools for security work.
No, airsoft guns are not illegal in the state of Illinois. However, state laws do prohibit air guns being carried in the general public. Most airsoft guns contain at least a 6mm orange tip which indentifies it as being non-lethal. Airsoft guns can be legally used in or on your property. The State of Illinois also prohibits the distribution or shipping of airsoft guns as part of the law.
In most airsoft wars and tournament at public airsoft fields, you have to be 12 and up and you need a waiver signed by one of your parents/legal guardians. If you are just going to have an airsoft war in your backyard with a couple of friends, you can be any age. You have to be 18 or older in most states to purchase an airsoft gun, however.
This all depends on the laws that are in your state. You will want to check the laws before you even purchase an airsoft gun. For the most part though, having an airsoft gun shouldn't be a big deal. If you have uptight neighbors however, you may want to check with them (If you are using loud guns).
please do ricochets in the eye are way worse the wearing glasses they can just be sunglasses
If the question is "would this be legal?" then probably it would be OK. If the question is "would this be smart?" then the answer is certainly no. If the intruder is armed, or even willing to put up with the inconvenience of being shot with an airsoft you would probably be in a world of hurt. The intruder may shoot back with a real gun or may just get angry enough to take the airsoft away from you. Incidentally, 'cover' is something that will stop a bullet. In most homes that is only a brick fireplace or a concrete wall. 'Concealment' is something you can't see through but can shoot through, like the wall of a house, a refrigerator, or the living room drapes.

Self protection? As in keeping robbers away from your house? I guess i would go with a gas rifle. They are often the most powerful, but are more expensive. If your are looking for home security, an airsoft gun would not be your best bet. I would go with an actual pellet gun or air rifle. Airsoft guns are more for recreation.
That's a ridiculous question. Besides, It's mean to hit stuff. Hope your gun breaks!
