Bill Gates is retired so probably does not draw a salary from anyone. he is active in his philanthropic organization and I am sure continues to advise Microsoft in some capacity but he obviously does not need the money so I doubt very much that he is getting any.

That said Bill Gates fortune is (as of 2012) estimated at $61.3 billion dollars making him the second richest person in the world (after Mexican telecom exec Slim Carlos). That said he has given away over $28 billion so far meaning that (disregarding the money he would have made had the $28 billion been invested) he has essentially earned $90 billion in his career which started in earnest with the founding of Microsoft in 1975. Thus if we assume a 37 year career with normal 8 hour work days, 5 days a week with $90 billion in earnings this equates to approximately $1.69 million per hour (a not unreasonable yearly salary of over $28,000 a minute and a enough to buy an unsubsidised Windows phone, or $470, every second).

Most of this money is obviously invested and much of it may not be immediately liquid but one can safely assume that Bill Gates is not, and will never be, feeling any financial strain.
