How do you erase history of websites on a mac computer?

In Safari, go to History | Clear History. Or go to History | Show History, click on a specific date, highlight the history you wish to delete and press the delete key (or CTRL click to bring up the menu and choose the delete option)

internet history is handled by whichever browser you are using, therefor, the answer depends on that. I'll just answer the question for the two most common browsers. If you are using a different browser, you'll need to ask for that browser in particular. For Safari, under the "Safari" application menu, select "Reset Safari..." This will display a dialog with a list of history items (e.g. cache, cookies, etc.). Select or deselect whichever options are appropriate. For Firefox, go to "Preferences" by clicking on the apple icon in the top left corner. Click on the "Privacy" category and click the button "Clear Now..." under "Private Data". Select and deselect as necessary.

To delete the history file in Safari, the default Mac browser, simply select "Clear History" at the bottom of the History menu. To delete (only) the history file in FireFox, probably the most common alternate browser on the Mac, is much trickier. Select "Preferences" under the Firefox menu, select the Privacy tab, click on "Clear Now..." on the lower right, uncheck everything but "Browsing History", and click on "Clear Private Data Now". That's it!

You can delete your Safari history and cookies by going to Safari>Preferences>Privacy and then click "Remove all Website Data"
