Open Control Panel, click "System", click "Hardware", click "Device Manager". Usually, one of the devices under "Human Interface Devices", such as "HID-Compliant device" will have a warning on it. This means that it is not functioning properly.
Right-click that device, click "Uninstall". Then right-click on the heading for that device, and click "Scan for hardware changes". Your table will find the device and install it for the one that was a problem, and then continue to install others that were screwed up as well.
Sometimes the device that it re-installs will be non-functioning still. Simply repeat the process. In this case, everytime for me at least, the device will be perfect the 3rd time around.
If your tablet pen stopped working, it could be due to a dead battery, a loose connection, or a malfunction in the pen itself. Try replacing the battery, reconnecting the pen, or troubleshooting the pen with the device's manufacturer for further assistance.
Pen tablets are used for graphics, designing and many other purposes. One can use one tablet pen on other if both are in working condition.

I know this is the answer box, but listen: My pen isn't working. When I click down with it, it either drags the screen or randomly highlights things. I can't pass the calibration test. What's wrong?
In short, no. The graphics tablet pen is detected by the tablet itself because of something in the stylus - the most common method currently being Wacom's "penabled" technology. For this, a coil located in the pen interacts with the magnetic field produced by the tablet, producing a current to power the pen. This lets the pen - which has quite a bit of circuitry in it, actually - to communicate with the tablet. The tablet, in turn, has a grid of wires running across it which lets it detect the location of the pen according to the pen's own magnetic field. So, really, there's an awful lot of technology in your pen, all of which is necessary to let it do what it does. There's a good reason for them being so expensive!

It is a capacitive touchpad. It does not include, and would not work with the wacom pen. The pen uses an active sensor, which is not included in the touch model tablet. If you want to touch and use pen, then you need to buy the "pen and touch" model.
