The answer is "Yes, but carriers don't like it." There is no technical reason why you would not be able to use a CDMA phone on any CDMA network, but in order to ensure that they make money, carriers will only allow ESNs (serial numbers) from their own phones to be activated. The exception is (or rather, will be) Verizon Wireless when they institute their Open Access Policy. This will allow you to use any CDMA phone on their network.
CDMA is a type of network that cell phone company's use. There are to meager types of networks that are used CDMA and GSM. Cell phone are usally made to work on one or the other network. The Iphone is GSM and Verizons Dare is CDMA but some phone can work on both like the new Blackberry storm.
There are two types of cell phone networks, GSM and CDMA. As long as the network you are trying to move your unlocked phone to is compatible then yes it will work. In most cases a GSM phone will not work on a CDMA network and vise versa, however, some careers (such as Verizon) have support signals for GSM phones. There is no support for CDMA phones on a GSM network at this time. So for overall versatility, GSM phones are better.
It depends if the phone is compatible with a gsm network if so it has to be unlocked
Yes it will. iPhone 4s is a world phone, means, it will work with any carrier on any network (including CDMA & GSM). Ref: google "iPhone 4s world phone"
Unlocking usually refers to a GSM network and flashing usually refers to CDMA networks. When you unlock a phone you can use it on any carrier that uses the same radio (GSM/CDMA), or if you have a world phone, either a GSM or CDMA. Flashing the phone just allows you to use one specific CDMA carrier.
no ,it only support gsm. not cdma not 3g network
You cannot. Verizon = CDMA AT&T = GSM (network that houses the iPhone) CDMA and GSM are not compatable.
cdma gsm
no it dose not different bands at&t is a gsm network.
CDMA and GSM are Radio technologies and mobile Phone is just an Antenna to receive these Radio Signals. Since both the technologies work on different frequency range and has different modulation shemes therfore the mobile phones for both are different.Apart from this 3G tehchnology which is combination of both GSM and CDMA (WCDMA) is compatible with both GSM and CDMA. So a 3G mobile can serve for both GSM and CDMA radio signals.SIM (Subcriber Idendity Module) is consists of Credential for network authorization. Since Both GSM and CDMA technologies has different Authorization functions and parameters hence both SIMs are different. Note: In CDMA technology SIM is often called as RUIM (Removable User Idendity Module).CDMA uses Different Frequencies than GSM. CDMA also does not require a SIM card. Now some companies do provide SIM cards for CDMA connections also, such as Reliance communications and TATA Indicomm in India.CDMA can hold more calls per channel on their towers, while GSM drops alot of calls. That is why people are always complaining about T-Mobile and At&t dropped calls. GSM is used internationally while CDMA is mostly used in the domestic United States. CDMA carriers are Verizon, Alltel, Sprint, Cricket....while GSM carriers here in the U.S. are T-Mobile and At&t.
a phone with these two facility can work in GSM with sim card and can work without sim card in cdma mode
It's a gsm/umts network. There's no cdma carrier in the Philippines.
