No. It has a firewire but it is only for the DV video side. I would not recommend buying one. We bought three of these units and they all failed within 2 months. It is not coincidence. Every JVC deck we have purchased has had catastrophic failures that do not get resolved even after sending out to JVC. They will lie and say it has been fixed, but they really have no idea what they are talking about. This deck is a rip-off, stick with Sony and Panasonic gear, it is well worth the money in the end. -Nick
It does not matter what camera you use with FCP as long as you can capture the footage
The closest thing to FCP on a windows operating system is probably Sony Vegas. It can do everything that FCP can do, plus with the new version you can edit 3d video.
A listing of Final Cut shortcuts can be found at the list below.
The jaggies can occur for numerous reasons. If you are viewing the text in the FCP Canvas this is not what the final output will be. You will need to view the video on an external monitor to see the final quality but in the FCP Canvas you can select to view the video at 100% and turn off the Aspect Ratio correction. This will give a better idea of what the final output will look like and should reduce the jaggies somewhat.
Take the memory stick out of the camera and import your footage via USB connected card reader. Drag files from card reader to desktop. Open FCP, press command i to import footage to your project. OR: within FCP use the "log and transfer" function. If you have an earlier version of FCP you may not be able to read the footage and would need to convert the files into a more compatible codec, Apple ProRes for example. I have many mts files transfered from my AVCHD camera, the files is difficult to use on mac, quicktime can not play them, fcp can not accept them, i just convert mts files to h.264 mov for quicktime player and fcp using Aunsoft Video Converter for mac, very ease, only three steps, this article can help you. http://www.aunsoft.com/convert-deinterlace-mts-to-h264-mov-for-fcp-mac-sony-cx150-avchd-converter/ http://www.mtsconverter.org/convert-mts-to-h264.html

Final Cut Pro is a professional non-linear editing system developed by Apple Inc
The extension .fcp is used for Final Cut project files.
Try FCP Groton. Search for it on Google or Yahoo.
Not necessarily, you can edit your video and still export it without needing to render it. Rendering just helps edit since if formats a preview so you can play the sequence in the common format that your FCP sequence is. Also if your video is a different frame rate than the sequence or you have multiple layers your will need to render after modifying any of the clips.
Open the project with the updated version of FCP.
