Your set-top box or built-in Digital Tuner should automatically tune to the strongest signal for each channel.

There may not be Relays for Digital TV like there were for Analogue so duplicates of a channel using a different number may not exist anyway.

Does flashing your headlights at a red traffic signal make it change to green?

No, Flashing your headlight's will have no effect on a traffic signal. The reason a traffic signal changes for emergency vehicles that have the lights flashing, is, they have a special transmitter that tells the light to change. This transmitter is connected to the emergency lights so it comes on when the lights are used.

HD ready tv with freeview built in and can't receive BBC HD or itv HD why not?

It may be a HD TV with Standard Freeview built in. Standard Freeview does not automatically contain any of the HD channels as it is not a HD service. However, you would get HD channels such as BBC HD and ITV HD if your TV had Freeview HD built in. So, my recommendation would be to buy a Freeview HD box. Remember to check on the Freeview HD website to find out when the service is rolling out in your area, as the service is actually brand new. My postcode doesn't receive this signal until June 2011, so be careful. The service at the moment is very limited.

Can you use your freeview box as a signal booster?

How RF direction finder works?

RF direction finders use antennas to receive radio frequency signals from a transmitter. By comparing signal strength or phase differences at multiple antenna locations, the direction to the transmitter can be determined. This information helps locate the source of a radio signal.

Does a crystal receiver allow electricity through when the transmitter sends a signal to it?

A crystal receiver does not run on electricity. It is simply powered by the radio waves it is receiving. A large antenna is used to receive the signal and moves the signal to the crystal detector or diode.

What is Freeview TV?

Freeview TV is a non-profit company that offer free tv to everyone. Freeview TV is the new face of free tv as the old analouge signal is going for ever. Freeview will only ever cost you money once unless you already have a freeview built in TV and an antena. If you do have that then all you need is a man to come and fit it all together for you!

The television has only an aerial connection can you still get freeview?

Freeview is the digital terrestrial television service for the UK. It is replacing analog services which will be switched off by 2012. To receive Freeview, either a television with a digital receiver is needed (most telvisions sold from 2008 have a digital tuner) or a separate Freeview receiver is needed. Most Freeview receivers have video and audio outputs which connect to AV inputs on the television. If a television has no AV inputs at all, then a Freeview receiver that outputs the decoded signal on the RF connector will be needed. Not all digital receivers have this function so it is important to check before buying. Before buying, ask the question "Does this receiver output its decoded signal as an analog RF signal?" It is not unknown for a salesman to say yes even if they don't know the answer. Remember that if you have asked the question and explained that it is vital to have the facility, you are entitled to a full refund if it turns out not to be the case. Better still, ask to study the manual before parting with cash.
