Shower walls, because if you do the floor first, and then drop a wall tile on it, you could risk chipping the already laid tile. Work with gravity, top to bottom all the time

Must disagree with above answer. Floor first so that floor goes under walls. Then leave a small gap between walls and floors. Do not grout this gap. Caulk it when job is done.

Why cant you use floor tile for the shower walls?

You can use floor tile in the shower, perhaps certain types that specify that you can't are an exception. There is literally no reason why you can't. Make sure you have denshield or Cementboard as the board being used to set on, and make sure that you know what you are doing, because if not it will most likely look terrible, and fall apart.
