No.
Category supervisors oversee categories of questions to keep them as organized and free of off-topic questions as possible. They may also:
- make sure that the answers fit the questions
- see that all of the duplicate questions (that are asked in different words) point to one commonly worded question.
- correct false information in answers
It means that you are in charge of a certain category that you are skilled at. Most of these supervisors are highly skilled people.
Of course you can answer questions in other categories! WikiAnswers is about sharing your knowledge; it would be silly to say that, because someone is a category supervisor, they don't know anything about other categories. Of course, your work as category supervisor within your category is essential and highly appreciated, but if you see a completely unrelated question you want to answer, by all means please go ahead.
It means that the answer cannot be changed by users. If you see something in a locked answer which is wrong, and you would like to have it changed, contact that category's Supervisor.
No, it does not. "Senior" has nothing to do with age. It means that they cover a top level category, such as: Animal Life, Science, or Travel.
The difference between direct and indirect supervisor is the presence of the supervisor. Direct supervision means a supervisor is psychically present. Indirect supervision means doing work without the physical presence of the supervisor.
Dis means not, by saying disagree, it means to NOT agree.
The Wiki Answers badge system shows what group the profile owner belongs to. For example: A person with a Category Supervisor badge, means that person belongs to the Supervisor's group. Contributors (People who ask and answer questions) also have a badge system to show each of their milestones in contributing to the site.
Unfortunately. the 'remit' of a Wiki - is that it's open for improvement. Sadly - that means answers can (and do) get vandalised. If you see this happening - contact a supervisor (the category supervisors are shown on the home page for each category. The supervisor will usually contact the culprit and warn them of their behaviour. If that doesn't work - the user can be blocked (either temporarily or permanently) from using WikiAnswers.
To dissent; if the justices disagree with the majority opinion, they write a dissenting opinion.
don't agree
Pseudo.................means "pretend" "imitating" "false". So a pseudo supervisor is someone who pretends to be a supervisor ( and really has no clue how to do it). I've known several.
GE category means GENERAL category
