How do you convince your parents to get texting?

promise you'll never text over the limit or during education sessions. convince them until they say yes. it's an opinion though. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let them know it would benifit them and you, for both your safety as well as less excuses on why you didnt call or answer your phone. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tell them that you really want to, and DON'T whine. One way that you could try to convince your parents to let you get texting is by showing how responsible you are. Do some research. Meaning, get different price plans and stuff like that. Figure out which plan would be right for you. do some research, if you can, find the percentage of teens that have texting or the plan that you are wanting. at&t/cingular offers the best texting plan. (trust me). But remember, most parents don't like it when you beg them for things. you may begin to get on their nerves. So, just show some responsibility. Erin Hays, expeirienced teenager~

Tell your parents that your favorite singer or actor has one. You can say your friend has one or that your cousin has one or say all your friends say you should get one to stay in touch

Either you do it without them knowing, or you say that you want to talk to your grandparents and friends more
