Through your profile.. you can upload the photographs and it asks you whether you want to load a single photograph, or a webcam photograph or whether you would like to start an album as option 3... select that. upload your photographs and then title them or caption them and put them all into one area... Sometimes it bombs out if the pics are too large, so you may have to do it twice.. I end up (slow server in Sri Lanka), with about 3 albums on the same subject but have forgiving friends.. Thank you

you have to save the photo to your computer then add the photo to your album
With a little different approach, you can do exactly what you want to do: Your friend needs to create an Album (so your friend is the owner) and add you as a contributor. You can then upload all photo's to that album through your own account. You both have then access to the photo album, while your friend is the owner.
Edit > Delete Album.
To create a photo album, you can transfer your pictures to your computer with a USB cord and when they are transferred it automatically turns it into an album.
