How do you delete a chat contact on Gmail?

Follow these steps to remove a contact from Gmail chat.

• First click the word Gmail found under the Google search bar on the left hand side of the screen. The second tab down will say contacts. Click that.
• Now a new screen will show up. Click on the box located next to the name of the person you would like to delete. A check mark will appear.
• Now scroll back to the tab that says "More" and click that. You will see a 'Delete Contact' option under the tab. Click this. Make sure you truly want to delete the contact before clicking. A yellow box will appear that says the person has been deleted. This person will no longer appear in your contact list.

To remove a contact or email address from your Gmail address book:

1. Open Contacts in Gmail. Click Gmail in near your Gmail inbox's left top corner, for instance, and select Contacts from the menu that appears.

2. Make sure all contacts you want to delete are checked. You can use the search field on top to find address book entries.

3. Click More in your Gmail Contacts's toolbar. You can also press. (dot) with keyboard shortcuts enabled in Gmail.

4. Select Delete contact (or Delete contacts with more than one selected) from the menu that appears.
