Spray with "liquid plumber" penetrant spray available automotive store lubricant section anywhere in US and CanTire in God's country. Leave overnight. Next day, turn off with slotted wrench - lefty, loosey. If you've done it right it will come off with minimal effort with little risk of tensional damage to Plumbing joints. Make sure you use the slotted wrench on the knurled part of the connector to avoid compression on the connector. It was so easy with this great 4 buck product. Only problem was family complaining of smell of product as it did its magic. Metal parts were shiny new after removal.
