You can't change the background of a non-jailbroken iPhone. You can only change the background of your lock screen. To do this you can just use Google images, hold your finger on the photo until it asks if you want to save the image. Save it, then go into camera roll and select it as your background. Hope that helps.
Make sure mms is on and you can send pictures by testing.

on my iphone in the photo album, there is a white boarder around the picture. I did something in the settings and mine is now black....what do i go to in the settings to make it white again?
The background is in the picture, so your question does not make a whole lot of sense.
Well, the iPhone is called an iPHONE for a reason, it is an ipod and a phone in one. If you do not want it to be your phone, and just an iPod, then I would suggest getting the iTouch. It does everything the iPhone can do except it can't take pictures or make/receive calls. (Yes, you can get an app for texting.)
Digital photos make the best background pictures. Gift wrapping paper is very worth photographing. Be sure to take a photograph of the paper indoors under ambient (regular) room lighting. This should make for a seasonal or colorful desktop.
To make things look bigger in pictures using your iPhone, you can try using the zoom feature on the camera app or move closer to the subject you want to appear larger in the photo. Additionally, you can use editing apps to adjust the size and proportions of objects in the picture after it has been taken.
You can make animated pictures on online editing websites or on software such as photoshop. You can then upload them to Twitter the same way you upload normal profile pictures.
