First level: Friends
Second level: Friends/School
Third Level: Friends/School/Classmates
...and so forth.

Labels help categorize your emails. This is not done automatically. You personally have to go into Settings and create labels. You can put emails in categories such as "Work" or "Music Store Related".
You can get new labels for your mail, update your personal profile, lots of storage and easy ways to manage alot of mail.

For Gmail like websites, you need to create a Mail Server. The mail server could be created using various languages. java, Python etc are some examples.
First, install Firefox. Yes, you can use Kindle2 to access gmail. Gmail can be accessed via any device. You must be having your ID and password mainly to access that.
