I had good results from rubbing it with Goof Off. This softened the contact cement till it rolled up in little blobs. The Formica was unharmed.

Can you get candle wax off of formica?

One method to remove candle wax from Formica is to place a plastic bag filled with ice cubes on the wax until it hardens, then gently scrape it off with a plastic scraper. You can also apply heat using a hair dryer to soften the wax and wipe it away with a clean cloth. Avoid using sharp tools that may damage the Formica surface.

How do you get cement off wood?

To remove dried cement from wood, you can gently scrape off as much as possible with a putty knife or scraper. Then, use a damp cloth or sponge to apply white vinegar to the affected area and let it sit for a few minutes to help soften the cement. Finally, scrub the area with a brush or scrubbing pad to help remove the remaining residue.

How do you get cement off your car without messing up the paint?

You can't. The best thing would to remove the panel and scrape the cemented area off, then have it repainted. Otherwise, you could try spending days nipping off flecks of cement with a fine chisel (and in the end, you would have to send it for repainting anyway).

How do you remove contact cement off laminate flooring?

My best answer would be lacquer thinner, applied with a clean rag and remove the glue with single edged razor blade. Small amounts of glue residue can easily be cleaned off with the lacquer thinner. Make sure you have plenty of ventilation. If the flooring is non-organic, such as Pergo, this will be easy. If it is a laminated wood flooring, it has a finish that may be dulled by the lacquer thinner and may require a clear finish when compete.
