How do you unfriend one from Gmail?

To remove someone from all of your circles:

1. Open Google+. Place your cursor in the top left corner for the Google+ main menu. Click People.
2. Click Your circles at the top.
3. Enter the person's name in the "Type a name" field.
4. Place your cursor over the tile of the person you wish to remove.
5. Click the X.

To edit the members of a certain circle:

1. Open Google+. Place your cursor in the top left corner for the Google+ main menu. Click People.
2. Click Your circles at the top. Click the circle that you wish to edit.
3. If you wish to remove someone, place your cursor over the small tile which contains the person's profile picture and name. When the profile card appears, place your cursor over the green tile. Uncheck the desired boxes to remove the person from the corresponding circle.

If you no longer want to interact with someone, you can block them. While this doesn't remove that person from your contacts, blocking someone will remove them from all your circles and limit the ways in which they can interact with you on Google+

Gmail does not have the concept of "friends". If you want to delete a contact, you can do that through your contact list.

Gmail is not like Facebook where you have friends. You can send mails to people and receive them. These mails can be professional or personal.
