Click the appearance button located on the left hand side of your dashboard to change your header.
To add a banner there are a couple of different ways for different places! You can place one in the header, in the body, in the footer or as a sidebar! In the body is the easiest and fastest way and simple past your banner code in the "html" part of your wordpress admin area. If you are using a image simply upload your image and add a link to it!
I wonder if you want to add an image in your WordPress sidebar. By default, WordPress doesn't have an image widget. And you may need to manually add the HTML code. But know little about the codes, right? So I recommend you to use a Wordpress plugin - Magee Shortcodes, it provides you with a simple way to display an image in your blog's sidebar.
A Logo or a Header.

Yes, you can insert an image anywhere in the code. You just have to insert the img tag before the area you want to insert it.
When you add a new post, there will be six symbols above the editing area. The one on the far left is for uploading photos. When you click on it, there will be an option to upload photos from your computer. Once you choose the photo and Wordpress finishes uploading it, you can write a title, descriptions, and captions (descriptions and captions are optional). Then you can choose how large/small you want it to be (thumbnail, medium, large, full size), and where you want it to be displayed (none, left, right, center). You may have an option to use the photo as a featured image. If your theme allows it, you can upload a photo into the customizable header. Under Appearance > Header you will have the option to upload and crop a photo. This photo will usually show up at the top of every page on your blog, depending on your theme. If you use featured images, these will show up at the top rather than your header image, if the reader has clicked on a specific post.
This answer is for WordPress 2.7 and above.Go to the Admin Panel (usually yoursite.com/wp-admin) and log in if necessary.Under Settings, click on Media. You will see options for Thumbnail, Medium, Large, and Full Size.

You call it an HEADER and you put it in the upper most part of the <body> .
I think you could be more clear. What you want to do can be any of the two things:a) resize and fit the current image at your blogspot to exactly fill into the header.- to do this -> log into your blogspot dashboard -> click 'Layout' -> click on the 'header' square -> In the pop up box, check mark 'shrink image to fit' box.- if you can't find 'shrink image to fit' box, you have to remove the existing image and before uploading it, check mark the box. Careful: Make sure you have a copy of image handy before you 'remove image'.b) increase the image (and also the blog) width to fit the whole screen width - not advisable.- to do this -> log into your blogspot dashboard -> click 'Template' -> click 'Customize' button -> click 'Adjust Width' and move the scroll mark as much as you want.
