People do this when they want to share their knowledge on a particular topic or subject but cannot find many questions on it.

Another reason this is done is to "seed". This means creating questions about a popular topic in order to have enough to warrant the creation of a new category for that topic here on the website.

Please bear in mind however that it is against the Terms of Use that you accepted to use Answers/WikiAnswers for commercial reasons. You cannot ask questions about your business and you cannot advertise your business in answers. We are an educational Q&A community.
