The world wide web and the internet are the same thing. The world wide web is just an address for the internet.
In popular speech then the Internet means the same as the World Wide Web, but technically, the Internet is the network of computers which runs services such as the World Wide Web, Email, News etc.

To put a website you have created onto the internet (world Wide Web) i would advise you look in the help section on you internet providers website for the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) details. Make a note of these and then all you need to do is download a free ftp program. I believe cute ftp is still available free of charge and as very user friendly. Once you have the FTP software and your web space details you can transfer the site onto the internet and as if by magic your pages are on the World Wide Web. If that is too much of a headache then there are plenty of hosting companies who will be happy to host your site for you such as intrahost www.intrahost.co.uk who i use and they are very good.
