I have a regular phone. I am off contract now. Found a prepaid phone. Can I keep my same number?
You can't really get two phone numbers on the same phone. But, you can get an extension phone number plus your regular phone number. Ask your phone service about an extension number for your phone.
No, they are not. When you guys a prepaid phone card, you are essentially just buying minutes. A prepaid SIM card, on the other hand, is a portable memory chip used to hold your phone's personal information including account holder, phone number, addresses book, text messages and other data. SIM cards are easily removable and can be used from one phone to the next.
Cell phone plans are expensive. If you have a smartphone, you likely pay over a hundred dollars a month for your plan. Other cell phone plans aren't much cheaper. For people who are looking for something else, prepaid cell phone plans are an option. Here are some of the benefits of using a prepaid plan. The first benefit is that you don't have to worry about credit checks. Regular cell phone plans will check your credit. If it is poor, you will have to pay a deposit. This isn't the case with prepaid cell phones. You don't even have to use your social security number. Along the same lines, prepaid cell phone plans don't have any commitments. You can terminate it any time since you don't have to lock in to a contract. Another benefit is that you only have to pay for minutes you use. Instead of getting a regular cell phone plan where you waste minutes, you can get a prepaid plan and control how many minutes you load on to your phone. That will save you a lot of money in the long run. A lot of people opt for prepaid cell phone plans because it gives them more control.
As long as your are switching in a local area, then this should be possible. The technicians at the store you purchased your prepaid phone from should be able to make the switch, as long as you haven't already canceled your service before you port the number over.
No, you would have to cancel your account with your provider and open a new account with a prepaid provider. Also, you cannot use the same phone.
There is no number with this person name as of yet, however I will keep looking around for additional information and or ads.
No... the funds credited to your phone's account is still valid - you simply order a new SIM card (with the same number).
No. When you "top up" your account, you just add credit. You keep the same number unless you don't top up for several months. In that case, your account is closed and your number will change when you reopen it. I'm on Virgin Mobile USA; I'd imagine that other prepaid wireless providers operate the same way.
Most wireless carriers can do this. Because most cell phones have a software lock, they must be activated as a prepaid phone on the same carrier (Verizon, Cingular, T-mobile, etc) for which the phone was originally activated. Take your phone to a carriers office (or call in). Do NOT go to an 'authorized dealer' or 'licensed representative'. These dealers are not actually part of the company and are typically limited in the types of support they can provide their customers. A sales representative should be able to assist you from there.
Same as other phones just run out of minutes then you have to get a new phone card or refill yours.
As with normal plans, the cheapest prepaid cell phone plan for one person is not necessarily the cheapest prepaid plan for somebody else. Before choosing a plan, you need to take a close look at your previous bills in order to find out how often you use your phone, and make your decision based on that. Don't confuse prepaid for pay as you go either. While the two are often offered by the same company, they are not identical. A prepaid plan means that you pay for your minutes upfront at the beginning of the month. Pay as you go means that you pay for each minute you use the phone.
Fax number looks the same as any regular phone number it contains area code+7 digit number (800-123-4567)
