I would recommend using Wordpress (since all My Little Web Designers sites use it as a CMS). It is one the most recognized blog platforms available. This means it has a lot of contributors in its development and plugin's by the thousands, plus it should integrate with most applications you can think off.

It may seem there is a lot to learn for those new to blogging but it really is the best for a reason and well worth taking the time to play around with.

Other options could be Blogger or Tumblr, but in my opinion if you were thinking of putting time into Blogger you may as well just create and maintain an up to date Google + account.
