What are the advantages and disadvantages of dividing memory?

If you divide your secondary memory i mean harddisc when you want to format and set up operating system you decrease the risk of the lost data because you back up the data the other part.In addition, you decrease bad sector possibility, because when you want to access a data from the harddisc it turn all harddisc if you divide it access until the part of the disc i mean it goes short way to access data, i prefer to divide harddisc.Ahmet Eralp KÜÇÜK.
