The NGC 6118 galaxy is a spiral galaxy 72 million light-years (redshift of 0.005) from Earth in the Serpens constellation, and is 100,000 light-years in diameter (same size as the Milky Way), and contains about 100 billion stars (same number of stars as the Milky Way). It emitted its light 72 million years ago when the universe was nearly 14 billion years old.
