What will happen with the Internet?

The internet will evolve with the evolution of technology.

The internet started with dial up bulletin boards where you could only type text in. You could download small files only due to slow modem speeds and errors in the transmission of information.

The world Wide Web came along and you could see pictures on the internet.

With higher speed internet connections it became feasible to have audio and video on the internet.

Now we are getting 3D on T.Vs so I don't see it being too long before we start to have 3D videos on the internet as fairly standard fare.

The internet has reached us through our senses of sight and sound. In the future I would see it reaching out to the senses of touch and smell. Taste I see as more difficult but somebody will come up with a solution.
