The 1080p standard has been around for several years coming out in foreign markets and not specifically Japan (although JVC did have the first camcorder that was rated high def and memory tech 2005 made the first HD disc).

The need to provide a pixel that refreshed at a very dramatic rate of speed and its ability to display a wider number of colors became an element in production.

The production industry made their debut and it is now up to the retail stores to provide the communities with inexpensive options. The balance wil heighten before decline with the new high def standard of broadcst happening in early 2009.
