The Newport name was used on firearms distributed by Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co of Chicago. They may have been made by Crescent Fire Arms, WH Davenport Arms, Iver Johnson, Harrington & Richardson, or Stevens. Being a .410 would suggest manufacture sometime after WWI and I believe HSB&Co ended operations sometime in the 1960s. If you can supply us with all other markings on the gun, including any symbols found underneath the barrel, and send us digital pictures, we can identify the exact maker of the gun and probably era of manufacture as well. www.countrygunsmith.net
