In North America (USA, Canada, etc.), there are no area codes beginning with 1.

Country code +1 is North America, but you need the next three digits (i.e., one more digit) to be more specific.

  • +1 270: Bowling Green, KY, USA
  • +1 272: (future overlay of +1 570 in Scranton, PA, USA)
  • +1 274: (future overlay of +1 920 in Green Bay, WI, USA)
  • +1 276: Bristol, VA, USA

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but many countries use different prefixes.)
