011 is the international outbound dialing code for the USA, Caribbean and Canada.

+1 is the inbound country code for the same area.

However, 011 1 is an invalid code. Within North America, just dial 1+area+number. Outside North America, dial your international outbound dialing prefix, followed by country code +1.

The nearest possibly valid code would be 0011 1, which is the dialing prefix for North America when calling from Australia.

(The plus sign means "insert your international access prefix here." From a GSM mobile phone, you can enter the number in full international format, starting with the plus sign. The most common prefix is 00, but North America (USA, Canada, etc.) uses 011, Japan uses 010, Australia uses 0011, and many other countries use different prefixes.)
