Why do so many people use Google?

To find stuff on the internet. If there weren't any search engines you'd have to type in addresses at random and just hope to be lucky to find something useful or interesting.

To find connect themselves with around the world .wheather it information,news,place,event.........etc. happning or already happend...also give information in requried manner with small movement of time

Results: As a search engine, it provides fast reliable results. You can usually find what you are looking for in the first few links.

Visual:

The site is functional, and not bombarded with ads (banner, pop-over, video, etc.) It has a simplistic design and it works.

Speed:

Because it is a functional site, the results are fast.

Customizable:

Google has a customizable portal to put on what you want. Not all search engines do this.

I think this probably stems from the joke on the British comedy series The IT Crowd. In one episode, when the two help desk gentlemen were playing a prank on their very-non-techy supervisor, they told her that if one "googled" Google, it would break the Internet. So, I would think that there are people out there who truly want to see what will happen and whether there is some sort of "easter egg" or joke webpage that comes up in the results inspired by the aforementioned TV show scene.

I'll think you'll find that people do not search "Google.com" on Google, but on the Internet Browser Search Engine!
