Ever increasing cost of advertising. The PPC model is a relentless ad model that other ( your competitors ) are ever causing your cost of advertising to increase.

Furthermore, you must monitor your Bids and Campaigns to make sure you ad does not fall out of position. If the advertiser has thousands of keywords this could become a full time job.

Recently Google has added some features to automate the process. There is concern though, by giving them all the information, are they actually helping you or themselves. Those that have the latter thought use third party bidding tools to automate the process that do not allow Google or MSN know information that the ad user may not want to reveal directly. (ex: How much you are willing to pay for your max bid) (see related link for example)

Finally, other forms are advertising are much more cost effective. Spending money to work on your organic listing in a search engine is a much more cost effective model.
