Trust points are an indicator of how trustworthy the answer to a question can be. If the contributor who has answered your question has a lot of trust points, the chances of the answer being accurate are considerably high. If you feel that the answer is good and has given you all details you want, you can click on the link "recomment contributor" just beside the name of the person who answered it. This will add one trust point to the person who answered your question.
The number in square brackets is the number of Trust Points the contributor has attained.
When a question has been answered, down where it lists the people who answered it, it will say "recommend contributor" beside the name. Click on that to recommend someone.

This is the number of questions you have contributed to WikiAnswers.Below that, at the bottom of the column, you will see "Total" also with a number beside it. This is the total number of contributions you have made, including messages, discussions, Forum threads, re-categorizing, etc.If you are an unregistered member, and you use a public IP such as at a school, there is no way to tell how many questions you have asked. If it is a private IP and you are the only one who uses it to access WikiAnswers, a supervisor could determine this, but not easily.Just for the sake of observation, as of 3 March 2011, there has been one question asked by the IP user who contributed this questions. Guess which question that is.
Wikianswers (I recommend) is the best helpful resource for information. Everyone here that has an account are very informed and are glad to answer any questions. When I had questions about things like assignments and projects I found this website. I used it as an unfair advantage, just kidding. So that's why I made an account, to help out the community. =) You can get answers from many people which saves you the trouble of looking it up unless nobody answers but that's beside the point. WikiAnswers actually has real people answering so you can get answers for questions that you normally can't get answers for on the web, you know common knowledge. Bet you couldn't find an answer for this sort of question anywhere but here. Written first by: Genre234 Helped first by: Injured_person987

The amount of points is the amount of people who trust you and your contributions. There should be a 'recommend' button by your name if you made the last edit in an answer. You can recommend yourself once. To advance your Trust Points, just make high-quality answers and/or contributions to WikiAnswers and someone is bound to trust you.

== Why, yes -- it has been quite wrong under many circumstances. I asked it, "Is the color blue, blue?" and it said "No, it's yellow," so WikiAnswers can be wrong -- but it comes with a free hat.== WikiAnswers is open to public editing, answering and asking. Not everyone has correct information, or the serious intent to give good answers. Supervisors try to correct errors as they come across them. Sometimes, as with this question, there will be multiple answers for you to choose from. One of the ways for you to judge the validity of an answer is to look at the bottom, to see who answered it. Beside the name of the contributor is "Contributor trust:" and then a number. The higher the trust point rating is, the more likely the answer is good.Oh -- and I don't think WikiAnswers has started giving away free hats, yet!
