Why has my question not been answered yet?

They have now ! If you're referring to another question you've asked - it may be that no-one who can answer it has actually read your question yet. Remember - this site is not 'live' like a chat-room, it's a 'forum'. The difference is - you may have to wait a while before someone actually reads your question !

Nobody who knows the answer has gotten around to it yet. It generally takes time to get your question answered.

If your question hasn't been answered, please don't answer it with something along the lines of "i don't know, that's why i asked". This just creates more work for us when we have to delete your answer (and maybe ban you in the process). It also reduces the chance that your question will be properly answered.

This site answers an enormous number of questions (often correctly) so if you have not had any success in getting an answer, it may be a fluke, or perhaps your questions are unusually difficult, or perhaps they are incoherent, or perhaps they are too demanding (sometimes I see a question which I might answer, but it would take me half an hour, and it's not worth it).
