I had a Blackberry Bold 9700 before my current phone, the Samsung Galaxy II S Skyrocket (Android 2.3 Gingerbread Software). My Blackberry received emails almost instantly, while my Android takes at least 3 - 5 minutes to receivean email. I noticed this right away as I often email myself notes for exams as well as papers I print out at my university. My Blackberry would literally receive the emails I sent myself 3 or 4 seconds after I clicked 'send' on my computer. Just a note, I have AT&T, my Blackberry had '3G', my current Android has '4G LTE' (I don't live in an area with LTE service). While I still prefer my Android, my Blackberry had such an easier and faster email platform. However, the internet browser on my Android makes the Blackberry's seem prehistoric (instant videos, uploads, downloads, can open virtually any webpage, Flash, etc). But if emails are of essential importance to you and a mediocre (at best) web browser will suit you, Blackberry's platform is far superior. (Plus an actual physical keyboard makes responding to an email twice as fast)

BBLaunchAgent is a waste of time - I think its supposed to help to launch Blackberry Desktop Manager software when you connect your blackberry to your Mac. But it doesn't, it just sits in your dock eating up CPU cycles and you can't get rid of it. If you force quit, it is relaunched straight away. It also stops you from logging out or restarting your Mac. Solution? Go to /Library/Application Support/Blackberry and rename BBLaunchAgent.app to BBLaunchagent.old.app. Then quit the program in your dock. Now you can manually launch desktop manager, without this piece of crap.
