try doing a hard reset by holding the sleep wake(top right) and the home button (below touch display) pressing them both at the same time you will see the slide to power off but ignore it hold until you see white apple logo. After this the phone will power off and on take maybe 45 seconds
if this doesnt work i would do a restore using iTunes but restore the phone as new not from backup if it fixes the problem then you can right click on the phone icon in itunes under device and choose restore from backup if you need assistance in doing so then go to www.apple.com/support and search for ht1414
