im not sure if you mean taking the fluid from a regular lighter and putting that into a Zippo or just simply zippo to zippo but I'll answer both.
I wouldn't recomend putting normal butane lighter fluid into a zippo because it runs out really fast and makes the flame far too big to be practical.
if you want to change fuel from one zippo to another simply remove the insert, peel back the first felt layer, take out the cotton from inside and putting that cotton into the other zippo.
hope that helped :)
Lighter fluid ...its not often that the trivial answer is the right one. Good work. Lighter fluid ...its not often that the trivial answer is the right one. Good work.
No sir, I'm 14 and got my Zippo today with some lighter fluid. Heed my advice, if you want a Zippo, make sure to have Lighter fluid, it does not have any pre-filled. SMOKE WEED EVERYDAY(<--- Listen to him), Jon
Butane, but I know there's a better one though. Butane is like the standard, while you could buy higher end fuels.
If you buy the lighter, it comes with the case (the outer part of the lighter), the lighter (the inner piece where the wick comes out of the chimney), one wick, one flint, and the filler material that you put fluid onto. You can also purchase kist that come with spare wicks, flints, and a can of Zippo brand fluid. When I bought mine they did not offer the kits, so I bought the lighter, some fluid, some wicks, and some flints and it was under $40 for the whole mess.
The one thing you'll need to buy before using it is lighter fluid. Zippo lighters come empty and you'll need to fill it. You should try and use only Zippo Lighter fluid which you can find at any cigar shop, most convenient stores and most supermarkets. As time wears on, you'll need to purchase flints and wicks but these take a while to wear down. If you're buying online, you may want to purchase these 2 items (flints and wicks), at the time you buy your lighter to save on shipping.
in Australia, you can be any age to buy Zippo lighter fluid. im 14, and so is my boyfriend, and we bought a zippo and zippo fluid yesterday, so all good.
I just bought one, and I am 15, hope that helps at all
The Ebay aution of one of these lighters is currently at $50. However there are several collector clubs with ties to the Zippo lighter company. It might be worth contacting them for more information. Zippo lighters are hugely collectable and one of this age is highly prized.
Take the actual lighter out of the metal frame, should have to move a joint back where the lighter opens. Pull it out, and there should be a small piece on the bottom of the lighter that looks like insulation. Pull that out slightly and fill the inside of that with liquid lighter fluid. When it's full, put the whole piece back together and you're all set.
if he or she wants one yes
Fix a lighter? That is pretty vague! Get fluid into it... adjust the wick, put a new flint into the mechanism, or see if the cotton is bad. If it is a butane you should buy a new one, if it is a zippo then I can help but I need more info on the prob!
I think you have to it with the lighter, unless there is a website or a collector that you can obtain one from
