Funtown was an amusement park in Erie, PA. It was located on Peninsula Drive at the site of the former wild water park (across from Scott's Motel). I don't remember much about it. There was a Char-house restaurant at the NW corner of the property (on Peninsula Dr.) There was a Wild Mouse type coaster (looked like a Schiff model), there were also go carts and a rug ride slide. The may have been an octopus type ride too. The coaster was eventually removed and the rug ride was transformed into a waterslide during the transformation into Wild Waters. The Wild Waters slide "Rampage" stood where the coaster was.
Lagoon Amusement Park's motto is 'It's what FUN is!'.
A hyperbole is an exaggerated statement or claim that is not meant to be taken literally. In this case, saying "The amusement park was fun" is not a hyperbole because it is a straightforward statement. To create a hyperbole, you could say something like "The amusement park was the most fun place on Earth," which exaggerates the level of enjoyment to emphasize the excitement and thrill experienced at the park.
