The Caspian Sea is located on the continental divide of Europe and Asia and is the world's largest lake at 371,000 sq km which is completely enclosed by Russia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. The Caspian Sea is completely land locked and is 28 metres below sea level. It is about 1,210 km from north to south and varies between 210 to 430 km from east to west.
