Oh, dude, the Basin and Range region is like a zoo without fences, with animals roaming around freely. You can find all sorts of critters there, from bighorn sheep and pronghorn antelope to coyotes and rattlesnakes. It's basically a real-life version of Animal Planet out there.
I have been to the Basin for camping and there are possums, kangaroos, peacocks, yabees on the beaches fish in the water, other birds.
Bacteria lives in the basin
Some of the animals that live in the Roanoke River Basin include n abundance of freshwater fish, mussels, crayfish, snails, and salamanders. The Roanoke River Basin is home to the Brook Trout, which is native to the river.
The animals that live in the Amazon basin are:anacondas, pirahnas, caimans [these are part of the crocodile family tree, they are small reptiles, similar to thesnappy, ravenous crocs]. Also pink and river dolphins live there.

Basin and Range faults
were does the great basin live
well they do certainly live mostly in Basin range you see, but where it was located in the 1500s....I'm not so sure. But I can estimate, the pueblos still do live in the basin range area, near and among the rivers there. Some are also in Colorado plateau, and rocky mountains.
