What are two types of wetland?

There are three types of wetlands:

• Marsh- a coastal wetland which contains fresh water. It has soft-stemmed plants and sometimes marshes are covered with ocean water.
• Swamp- contains woody plants and trees. It is a coastal wetland filled with salty ocean water. Mangrove trees could be found in a swamp.
• Bog- a wetland found with a layer of peat. Rotting and decaying plants and animals form a layer in the bog. Bogs are found near foggy hills, streams, slow moving rivers, small lakes or large ponds.
