The Yellow River is known as the Huang He or Huang Ho in China. It also has the nickname of the River of Sorrow and China's Sorrow due to the many deaths caused by it's frequent flooding.
The Chinese referred to the Huang He River as the "Yellow River," but it was also known as "China's Sorrow" due to its frequent flooding that led to significant loss of life and destruction of homes. The river's unpredictable nature has caused devastating floods throughout history, resulting in widespread suffering for the communities along its banks.
The yellow river is called the Yellow River because it's color is yellow and the Chinese people call it the Huang He / Hwang Ho which means the yellow river. Huang He / Hwang Ho actually means Queen river, but because of the murky yellow water it was nicked named Yellow River

The Yellow Rivers is named for the color that is caused by the sandy soil mixing with its water. It is the second-longest river in Asia.
The Huang River affects the people that lived near it because over time loess builds up in the river it forming dams, so that caused the river to change its course many times. But when the river suddenly changes course, farms and towns are destroyed. And the Huang river also has many horrible floods. So in a result they call the Huang river "the River of Sorrow".
The Yellow river was concieved "good and bad" because the river once overflowed and killed thousands. So, during May and April, the monsoons overflow the river rusulting in catostraphic changes. The river is also called "good" because the the river nurtures the plants and animals, resulting in good crops.
China's Huang He (Yellow River in English) flows between Shaanxi and Shanxi provinces through a valley with loamy soil known known as loess, a yellowish buff colored silt made up of very fine particles, which colors the water. The amount of silt is further increased by the loess carried into the Huang He by its many tributaries.
