The early African civilization located between the Zambezi and Limpopo rivers is the Great Zimbabwe civilization. Flourishing from the 11th to the 15th centuries, it is renowned for its impressive stone structures, including the Great Enclosure and the Hill Complex. This civilization was a hub for trade, connecting the interior of Africa to coastal trade routes, particularly in gold and ivory. Great Zimbabwe's decline in the late 15th century is often attributed to factors such as resource depletion and shifting trade patterns.
