What feeds a freshwater lake?

Streams, rivers, and springs can all drain runoff from rain into the body of a lake, as well as rainfall (or snow) onto the surface of the lake itself. But it is important that the lake also have an outlet, otherwise dissolved minerals may accumulate as lakewater evaporates. This causes lakes without outlets, such as the Great Salt Lake in Utah, Mono Lake and the Salson Sea in CA, and even Lake Manly in Death Valley, from becoming salt water lakes, even saltier than oceans.
