Tidal inlets have a tendency to trap sand that is moving along the length of the shoreline by the action of waves and currents. Sand, or sediment, bypassing at inlets is any process (be it natural or mechanical) by which material is transferred from one side of the inlet to the other.
I know a couple examples, all of which are in Long Island, NY: Shinnecock Inlet Rockaway Inlet East Rockaway Inlet Fire Island Inlet Moriches Inlet
Bypassing a heater core involves disconnecting the heater core hoses from the engine and linking them together, effectively creating a loop. This can be done by removing the inlet and outlet hoses, then connecting them with a metal or rubber coupling. It's important to ensure there are no leaks and that the coolant flow is uninterrupted. However, bypassing the heater core should be a temporary solution, as it can lead to reduced cabin heating and potential engine overheating issues if not addressed later.

There are two heater core hose that goes to the firewall the inlet and outlet. through that hose, you will also have the rear heater core hose attached to a T joint in both the inlet and outlet hose. You splice the hose of the front heater core inlet and connect that to the rear heater core inlet hose. Same goes to the Outlet hose with the T joint using a conncetor which you can buy at your auto parts store, 3/4 inch size. Basically you are bypassing the front heater core that is connected to the firewall. You wont have any defroster and heater for the front, but the rear vents and control will have heat.
The motorcyclist made sure to take the bypass in order to avoid traffic.

To set up hose placement on a sand filter, first, ensure the filter is connected to the pool's plumbing system. Attach the inlet hose from the pool pump to the filter's inlet port, which is typically located at the top. Next, connect the outlet hose from the filter's outlet port to the return line that leads back to the pool. Finally, ensure all connections are secure and check for any leaks before starting the system.
