The elevation of the Portland area varies depending on where you are. The downtown area by the waterfront is about 20 feet above sea level, and because of that many people estimate the elevation in general at about 50-52 feet, but within the city limits is also the Council Crest area, with the highest point having an elevation of 1,073 feet.

Portland International Airport is 25-30 feet above sea level, Washington Park Zoo is about 600 feet, and Portland State University is about 200 feet.
