I believe that some fossils have been found very high up on Mount Everest indecating that it was once on the sea bed.
The presence of marine fossils in the Mojave desert indicates that the region was once covered by sea millions of years ago. This suggests that the area has undergone significant geological changes, such as shifting land masses or changes in sea levels, leading to the formation of the desert landscape we see today.
There are two possible ways that sea shells could end up in a desert:1.) The shells are fossil evidence that the region was once covered by sea. 2.) Natives who lived in the interior desert would frequently trade with others on the coast for sea shells that they would then use to make jewelry.
That is impossible to answer. There is nothing to compare the Earth to if that scenario happened.
There are sea fossils at the top of the canyon from the seas that once covered the low plains there.
