Transverse dunes form at right angles to the wind when there is abundant sand, lack of vegetation, and a constant wind direction. They have a symmetrical shape with a gently sloping windward side and a steeper leeward side.
Electromagnetic deflection is used because it can create greater deflection angles of the electron beam compared to electrostatic deflection.
You can find the deflection in a flight of stairs using hand calculations by first measuring all angles and lengths. These can then be entered into a formula which calculates deflection based on these variables.
