It would fall to the ground, going faster all the time, accelerating at the rate of
the acceleration of gravity ... or maybe a little less than that because of the air
resistance ... and by the time it hit the ground, it would be falling pretty fast.
If the point happened to be pointing down when it landed, it might actually
penetrate some distance into the ground. Also, if anyone happened to be
standing or walking over the place the knife was headed for, it would hurt,
whether it was falling with the point up or down.
