The lower you go in the sea, the greater the water pressure, because of all the

water above you, pressing down with its weight. To avoid being crushed by the

water pressure, fish have an internal body pressure that is equal to that of the

external water pressure. When the fish are raised to the surface rapidly, their

internal pressure then is much greater than the air pressure, and it can cause

their bodies to burst. If they are raised more slowly, the pressure has a chance

to equalize.

(Exactly the same reasoning to explain why an astronaut's body would burst if he

forgot to get into his space suit before he stepped out on the veranda and began

a space walk.)

When deep sea fishes are brought up to the surface of the sea their bodies burst?

the deep-sea water fishes are in equilibrium with the high pressure of the sea water outside i-e. blood in their bodies flows at very high pressure. when they are brought out the equilibrium is disturbed and the pressure outside becomes low which results in bursting of their bodies.

Why do some fish puff up when they are brought to the surface from ocean depths?

because when deep sea fish are brought up to the surface after living in such extreme pressure areas for their entire lives, the lack of pressure on them causes them to puff up. so basically, it's because the pressure greatly decreases.

What is the burst of light on the Suns surface?

Which type of nuclear burst occurs about 100000 feet surface level?

A high-altitude nuclear burst occurs about 100,000 feet surface level. This type of burst generates an electromagnetic pulse that can disrupt or damage electrical systems and infrastructure over a wide area.

What type of atomic burst is deadlier air burst surface burst or subsurface burst?

The deadly effects of an atomic, or nuclear weapon include heat, radiation and blast. All three of these effects will propagate over a greater surface area if detonated some distance in the air over the target. Assuming the target population is concentrated at or near the surface, such as a city or most military bases, an air burst would be most deadly. If the target is underground in a hardened bunker, then a surface or even subsurface detonation would be more effective.

Which type of nuclear detonation creates a huge crater?

Surface Burst

Which type of nuclear burst occurs under 100000 feet but the fireball doesn't contact the earth's surface?

An air burst occurs under 100000 feet but the fireball doesn't contact the earth's surface.

Why an air bubble in water burst as it emerges on water surface?

An air bubble in water bursts at the surface due to a decrease in surface tension. As the bubble rises, the water surrounding it is dragged along, stretching and thinning the surface layer. When the bubble reaches the surface, this thin layer breaks, causing the bubble to burst.
